#1 Stay On Top Of Oil Changes
With any vehicle that you own, getting frequent oil changes is important. With a diesel engine, it is even more important. Make sure that you get your oil changed at the recommended mileage so that you don't prematurely wear down your engine. When you get your oil changed, be sure to always have the filter changed as well — don't just top off your oil. Also, make sure that the oil filters that you use meet or exceed the recommendations for OEM filters that the manufacturer has set in place.
#2 Treat Your Gas
When you fill up your truck with gas, make sure that you treat the gas. You can purchase diesel fuel additives for a couple of dollars each at your local auto parts store. Diesel fuel additives help keep any impurities that are in the fuel from getting into your engine.
